Turbulence measurements of spray flames
Abstract
Laser measurements have been made of the fuel droplet velocities in the mixing region between a central atomized fuel spray and an annular swirling airstream. These data indicate that there are large changes in both the mean and RMS velocities with droplet size. Measurements of the scales and spectra of the velocity fluctuations which show significant variations across the spray are also discussed.
