Diffraction of waves on a grid of circular cylinders with longitudinal slots
Abstract
The method of semi-inversion is used to solve the problem of diffraction of plane waves on a grid of parallel circular cylinders with longitudinal slots. The cylinder surfaces are infinitely thin and ideally conducting. This problem leads to an integral equation of the first kind. The solution method consists in separating in this equation the integral operator connected with the individual grid elements. This operator is then inverted by using the Riemann-Hilbert method. The solution enables giving an analytical and numerical description of the diffraction properties of the grid.
