Die Bildung negativer Ionen bei Elektronenstoß auf WF6 / Formation of Negative Ions from Electron Impact on WF6
Abstract
The formation of negative ions from WF6 by bombardment with electrons has been studied using a conventional mass spectrometer with an electron impact ion source. At higher electron energies WF6--, WF5--, WF4--, WF3--, and F-- ions have been found. Appearance potentials of WF6--, WF5--, WF4--, and F- resulting from dissociative attachment processes are given. WF4- and WF2- have been observed from the decay of a higher excited WF6- at about 70 eV energy. The electron affinity of WF5 has been derived as 1.25±0.2 eV; the values of D(WF4-F)≦5.5±0.2 eV and E A(WF4) =2.6 eV are suggested.
