Iteration method for the solution of an integral equation close to the Abel equation
Abstract
An algorithm is developed for solving a firstorder Abeltype integral equation in the framework of the problem of determining the density of galactic matter from measurements of galactic rotational velocity. The algorithm involves regularization of the problem, and an estimate of the accuracy of the solution, in dependence on the level of the measurement error, is given.
