Laser-produced plasma of two-component mixtures
Abstract
The article discusses the ionization and the dispersion of a laser plasma in the case where the target is composed of two-element impurities with essentially different atomic weights. The influence which indicates the presence of a heavy or light impurity on the formation of fast spectra and the plasma's charge composition is evaluated. The dependency of dispersion characteristics on the relative composition of impurity ions is assessed. The study is applicable to determining the optimal heating and dispersion conditions of a laser plasma at a maximum emission level of multiply-charged ions.
