Optical fiber digital data transmission systems - Design criteria and experimental results
Abstract
In this paper, after some theoretical considerations and design criterias, the first Romanian optical fibers duplex digital data transmission system is presented. The normal one-way path consists of a LED emitter (including the electronic driver), an optical fiber transmission channel and a photodiode-type receiver with an incorporated operational amplifier. The preliminary results, especially about the optical fiber propagation of the LED and laser beams, are presented.
