Temperature field of a hollow cylinder with mixed boundary conditions
Abstract
A method is proposed for solving the boundary value problem of thermal conductivity for a large hollow cylinder with heat-insulated ends. It is considered that boundary conditions of the second and third kinds are specified on the surface of the cylinder, and that external heat fluxes, heat transfer coefficients and ambient temperature vary arbitrarily. As an example, the method is used to study the temperature distribution of the hollow shaft of an engine.
