Study of turbulent wake structure behind a circular cylinder with and without end plates by measuring natural temperature fluctuations
Abstract
Temperature fluctuations were used to show that the turbulent wake structure behind a cylindrical rod is altered when circular symmetrical end plates are attached to the rod. The described arrangement diminished three dimensional eddy formations and narrowed the width of the wake.
