Analysis of submarine cable and communication satellite systems reliabilities

The performance of AT&T's overseas message telephone circuits for the years 1970-1975 was the basis for ana analysis of the reliability of submarine cables and communication satellite systems. Data presented in 24 tables is devided into three categories: (1) over cable and satellite system outage statistics for each of the six years and the six year average, (2) detailed cable system outages for each of the six years showing the causes of the outages, the means of restorations, and a summary of failures as a function of particular cable system for the six year period and (3) detailed satellite system outages for each of the six years showing the causes of outages for the six year period.
