Incoherent communications using discretely polarization-modulated noiselike signals
Abstract
Algorithms useful in describing the structure of a receiver for medium wavelengths, with polarization modulation features, are elaborated and refined. The algorithms can be used in the synthesis of a noiselike signal receiver handling polarization modulation in discrete communications systems. A statistical model of the field at the receiver input is constructed (two-dimensional complex-valued Gaussian random stationary field; field intensities outside the coherence radius are virtually independent, with their joint distribution dependent solely on the polarization matrix or Stokes parameters).
