Investigation of a voltage-tunable magnetron in the synchronization mode
Abstract
Experimental results are presented on the parameters of a synchronized voltage-tunable magnetron; attention is given to limitation of the synchronization band, the constancy of the output-power level, and the gain coefficient. A typical output-power distribution in the synchronization band is presented; a typical dependence of drop in output-power level on the value of the synchronization band is given; the theoretical dependence of the capture band on the ratio of synchronizer power to magnetron power for different Qs of the external oscillatory system is studied. It is found that a synchronized voltage-tunable magnetron can be used as a feedback amplifier with a gain coefficient of the order of 20-25 dB and as an oscillator in phase-control systems.
