Discrete filtering in a radio meter in the case of random signal-loss
Abstract
The paper attempts to find optimal and suboptimal algorithms of recursive Bayes filtering in a digital radio meter (e.g., rangefinder) operating in the signal-loss mode. It is assumed that the mechanism of random losses is described by a simple Markov chain, whose transition-matrix elements can be unknown. The accuracies of several algorithms for a second order filter are compared.
