Random displacements of image in the focus of a telescope during lidar measurement of the turbulent atmosphere
Abstract
The paper examines random displacements of images of lidar targets in the turbulent atmosphere in the focus of the receiving telescope. The reflected targets chosen for the study are a mirror disk and a corner reflector. It is shown that the dispersion of displacement of disk images is equal to the double dispersion of displacements of the image of the light source removed from the telescope a double distance. Displacements of the images of the corner reflector are found to be compensated by rotation (during reflection) of the spatial distribution of the field of the wave incident on the reflector.
