Stability of double-stream states in a magnetron. I
Abstract
Planar and cylindrical models of a double-flow electron cloud with unbounded charge densities in a magnetron diode are examined, and their stability with respect to transverse (radial) disturbances is investigated. The results show that the introduction of cylindricity (curvature of the interaction space) decreases the oscillation increments and stabilizes the electron cloud.
