Discrimination between symmetric and antisymmetric modes in a distributed-feedback laser
Abstract
The discrimination between symmetric and antisymmetric modes in a distributed-feedback laser as a function of the feedback ratio and the index of the longitudinal mode is studied. Output radiation power is found by solving the wave equation by perturbation theory. The field of the waveguide mode is assumed to be the field generating the radiation modes. The effect of output power on the field in the distributed-feedback structure is ignored.
