The velocity dispersion of the Corona Borealis cluster of galaxies.
Abstract
Redshifts were measured for eight relatively faint members of the Cor Bor cluster (A 2065). By combining these data with those of Humason et al., (1956), it is found that this rich cluster has a (relativistically corrected) velocity dispersion of 1070 km/s. This value is close to that found for the Coma cluster, and thus A 2065 should be a detectable extended X-ray source in future deep X-ray surveys.
