Extended Radio Sources in Clusters of Galaxies
Abstract
Radio observations of extended sources in clusters of galaxies by Owen (1974, 1975) are analyzed. It is shown that the radio emission from most of these sources comes from neither a large number of normal galaxies nor several active galaxies, but from extended gases in the clusters. Radio evolution of these sources is studied by their radio luminosity versus volume emissivity diagram. Key words: Cluster of galaxies; Extended radio sources.
