Possible relation between optical and very long baseline interferometer radio observations of the QSO 3C 345
Abstract
Existing radio and optical data on the variability of the QSO 3C 345 are summarised. Interesting correlations between the polarisation in radio and optical bands are evident; moreover successive outbursts have similar polarisation. This suggests that all outbursts are triggered by activity in the same central object rather than being a consequence of unrelated explosions of supernovae or similar objects.
