Power traveling wave tubes for satellite communications
Abstract
A family of high-output TWT for use in satellite communications (4 GHz band for downlink, 6 GHz for uplink) is described. The TWT described are for operation at 6 GHz, 14 GHz, 14.5 GHz, and 38 GHz. Information is provided on gain, gain slope, saturation power and output power, AM/PM conversion loss, delay line voltage, collector voltage, and collector current. Cooling arrangements and special operating modes are discussed.
