Emulsion stars of 200, 300 and 400 GeV protons
Abstract
Stacks of 600-micron emulsion were exposed to 400 GeV proton beams, and the characteristics of about 1000 stars and of the secondaries were compared with previously observed characteristics for stars of 200 and 300 GeV protons. Data reported include angular distributions of grey and black prongs, multiplicities and dispersions for shower prongs, and angular distributions of shower particles. It is shown that emulsion stars undergo slow but steady evolutions from proton energy of 6 GeV to 200-400 GeV.
