Solid state radar transmitters
Abstract
The article discusses solid state radar transmitters with attention to commonly employed configurations, called modules. The high power transistors utilized by such modules are particularly suited to high duty factor, wide pulsewidth applications. Several modules are compared in terms of parameters such as power output, bandwidth, pulsewidth, efficiency, and cooling. Particular consideration is given to the L-band transmitter, noting procedures for determining individual module status.
