The rate of change of G.
Abstract
Paleontological evidence derived from growth rhythms found in fossil bivalves and corals in five epochs from the Upper Cretaceous to the Middle Devonian is analyzed which concerns the variation of the solar day and the synodic month with geological time. A conservative lower limit of -0.5 (+ or -2) by 10 to the -11th power per year is obtained for the rate of change of the universal gravitational constant
