The photoelectret effect in semiconductors
Abstract
The nature of the photoelectret state in semiconductors and methods of studying this state are examined. Experimental and theoretical studies of the photoelectret state are reviewed, including the effect of an alternating field on photoelectret formation in anthracene; evaluation of the lifetime of CdS photoelectrets under different conditions of polarization; the photoelectret properties of copper-activated zinc sulfide; the rectifying properties of photoelectrets; the formation of the photoelectret state in evaporated CdS thin films; and the shift in lux-ampere and current-voltage characteristics of evaporated CdS films, due to the photoelectret effect.
