Introduction to the quantum electronics of spectrally inhomogeneous media
Abstract
The monograph is the 'first in the world literature to deal with the theoretical fundamentals of the quantum electronics of spectrally inhomogeneous solids'. Microscopic and macroscopic kinetics, cross relaxation, statistical theory of nonuniform broadening of spectral lines, stationary and nonstationary laser processes, types of spectra, giant laser pulses, and effects of giant pulses on the laser medium are treated. Spectra of systems of chemically identical centers (atoms, molecules, ions), with the phototransition spectral line at the center dependent on the coordinates and velocity, are studied.
