International Seminar on Solar Active Processes and on the Solar Neutrino Problem, 8th, Leningrad, USSR, September 25-27, 1976, Proceedings
Abstract
Papers are presented on the role of active regions and the overall solar magnetic field in the 11-year cosmic ray cycle, on the interaction of solar cosmic rays with interplanetary shock waves, on a satellite-borne spectrometer for studying solar X-rays and gamma rays, and on the production of gamma rays and neutrons in solar flares. Consideration is also given to the generation of coronal and interplanetary shock waves during solar flares, plasma dynamics in lab models of the magnetospheres of earth and Uranus, and the creation of an artificial comet. The current status of the solar neutrino problem is reviewed and attention is given to such aspects of the problem as beta decay without neutrinos, the production rates of Ar-37 neutrinos and the internal radioactivity background in solar-neutrino detectors.
