The Study of Fluctuations in the Muon Component of Large EAS
Abstract
The Nottingham muon experiment at the Haverah Park EAS array has been expanded to consist of three well separated 10 sq m shielded scintillators. The object of the expansion is to study in detail the fluctuations in the muon content and arrival time spread in large EAS (not less than about 10 to the 17th eV) detected by the infilled array at Haverah Park. The aims of the experiment and the techniques being used are described and early results are presented.
