Comet Kohler (1977m)
Abstract
A. R. Klemola, Lick Observatory, reports that a comet has been discovered by Merlin Kohler, Quincy, California. The comet was confirmed by E. A. Harlan with the Lick 51-cm double astrograph. The following observations are available: 1977 UT R. A. (1950) Decl. m1 Observer Sept. 4.208 15 24 +30 10 Kohler 6.16667 15 26 26.54 +28 58 55.0 11 Harlan M. Kohler (Quincy, California). 20-cm reflector. Daily motion 0o.5 southeast (or northeast). Diffuse without nucleus; no tail. E. A. Harlan (Lick Observatory). 40-min exposure. Trail diffuse with slight condensation. Daily motion derived from this exposure as Delta-RA = +2m.05, Delta-Decl. = -19'. Measurer: Klemola.
