Investigation on the existence of stable profile vortex flow through cylindrical long lined circular pipes
Abstract
The existence of a characteristic stable vortex flow profile was experimentally demonstrated for flow through a long circular pipe. Velocity patterns of the vortex flow (created by an axial fan) were measured at several distances from the start of the flow. The data are plotted, and the concept of flow stability is examined.
