Reattached jet flow with control jets and its switching in a wall-reattachment amplifier
Abstract
Experimental and theoretical investigations of wall-reattachment amplifier design are presented; attention is given to the interaction of control jets with a power jet, the behavior of the reattached jet, and the precise characterization of static switching. Predictions for the static switching control flow rate and total pressure are developed for contacting-both-walls switching and for terminated-wall switching. Consideration is also given to the splitter switching mode, which for practical geometries may be treated as terminated-wall switching.
