Ion temperature in the T-9 finger-ring tokamak
Abstract
The paper presents experimental data on ion temperature in a finger-ring T-9 Tokamak plasma. At the quasi-steady stage of discharge, the ion temperature agrees well with the value computed from Artsimovich's formula (1972). Anomalous heating of ions up to high temperatures was observed at the initial stage of formation of the plasma column. The anomalous heating is significantly dependent on the initial gas-pressure and is accompanied by intense MHD oscillations, escape of the accelerated electron beam to the diaphragm, and restructuring of the column.
