Spectral structure and spatial distribution of thermal radiation in the undercloud atmosphere of Venus
Abstract
The calculated intensities descending and ascending thermal radiation fluxes in the subcloud Venusian atmosphere are analyzed for various heights above the surface and various sighting angles. Continuous (non-selective) absorption by CO2 line wings and pressure-induced absorption are taken into consideration. Selective absorption of radiation by H2O, CO2, CO, HCl, and HF vapors is calculated by a two-parameter equivalent mass technique with allowance for the influence of temperature on the spectral transmission function.
