Nonlinear propagation of intense light in a gaseous medium with solid microfiller
Abstract
Theoretical calculations of nonlinear optical effects during propagation of a laser beam in a gaseous medium containing solid particles are presented. The propagation of thermal and hydrodynamic density perturbations in the neighborhood of an absorbing particle with slight heating is analyzed in a linear acoustics approximation. Analyses are given for the propagation of intense light in a medium with nonlinear scattering centers, the change in the statistics of radiation and the medium during optical action on an absorbing aerosol, and nonsteady acoustic self-focusing of radiation in a gaseous medium with absorption centers.
