Electromechanical analog-discrete follow-up converters using multistable elements
Abstract
The paper describes the circuits and operation of some electromechanical converters using multistable elements for discrete conversion of an input analog signal into the angle of rotation of a shaft and the phase of an output voltage. The first instrument considered contains a dc current amplifier, an electromechanical multistable phase element with periodic switching key in the feedback circuit and a linear converter of the phase shift of the multistable phase element output voltage relative to a reference voltage into a constant voltage. Improvements on this circuit are attained by introducing pulsed control and by achieving control of the multistable element through mechanical transmission rather than electronically.
