Circuit design with ULA modules: Experience - Cost comparison - Applications
Abstract
Uncommitted Logic Array (ULA) modules are bipolar integrated circuits with a high functional density which are manufactured according to customer specifications. The ULAs include low-power, standard, and high-speed versions. All three ULA chips possess a matrix-type arrangement of 225 functional cells, 40 interface cells, and 40 contact areas. Attention is given to aspects of ULA design, system considerations, an economic analysis, the development of a specific ULA circuit according to customer specifications, examples of ULA applications related to a pulse generator and the control unit for a camera, and a table listing different methods for the implementation of electronic systems.
