Remarks on the magnetic conductance of the escape flux of annular windings used for linear motors
Abstract
A rapid method of calculation is proposed for the magnetic conductance of the escape flux of annular windings in linear motors; the method is based on a detailed treatment of the annular geometry. Numerical results are presented for annular configurations with five, seven, or thirteen indentations (the five-indentation case corresponding to a biphase linear motor and the seven-indentation case corresponding to a triphase linear motor).
