Flow with periodic structure of thin liquid film along a flat vertical surface
Abstract
Isothermal gravitational flow of a liquid layer is analyzed in the case of a flow with periodic wave structure. The effect of interaction with the gaseous phase is taken into account. Conditions for loss of flow stability in a laminar layer of constant thickness are determined. Equations of motion are solved to determine the velocity field in the film and the shape of the surface layer.
