CNO burning and the location of zero-age horizontal-branch stars.
Abstract
Summary. Zero Age Horizontal Branch stars are revisited in the light df a detailed approach to the distribution of primary elements in the H-burning shell. A definition for ZAHB is given in terms of early evolutionary characteristics. The effect of varying the abundance of CNO elements in the original matter is studied in connection with suggested interpretations of peculiarities in H.R. diagrams of very metal-poor globular clusters. Key words: horizontal branch stars - CNO abundances
