Thin film transistor addressed display device
Abstract
The initial objective of this program, an operational 6 x 6 inch 20 lines per inch display, was fully achieved and delivered to the US Army Electronics Command. The device shows a high level of operational perfection with minimal defect counts. Initial characterization of the display indicates an acceptable brightness level and excellent power dissipation results. It is concluded that the viability of thin film transistor matrix addressing, as a technique for achieving realistic solid-state multi-element display devices, is proven. Further progress towards improved resolution and performance is anticipated.
