Laser induced fluorescence emission spectroscopy of H2CO(A1A2). 1: Comparison of the radiative transition rates from two nearly degenerate vibronic levels
Abstract
Emission spectra from two vibronic levels of H2CO have been obtained after a tunable dye laser excitation. From the measurement of the emission intensity distribution under varying pressures, the radiative transition rate from the 5(1) level was found to be approximately 1.8 times greater than that from the 1(1)4(1) level. This confirms the earlier suggestion that v sub 5 mode enhances the emission rate, inconsistent with the expectation based on the absorption.
