Systems analysis and optical scanning methods
Abstract
The paper describes optical scanners for the remote sensing of earth resources, which are used to obtain data on the two-dimensional distributions of radiation reflected and emitted at the earth surface. Attention is given to criteria used to design optical components and radiation detectors and to select a principle of scanning operation. Characteristics of measured emissions, optical systems, scanning principles are all considered.
