METEOSAT radiometer - Some considerations of the problems that could result from contamination
Abstract
A brief introduction to the METEOSAT Programme is given, which illustrates the significance of the radiometer. This is followed by a general description of the radiometer with particular emphasis on the radiometer performance and data interpretation, which establishes the requirement for rigorous controls to avoid contamination of optical and thermo-optical surfaces.
