Digital signal processing: Theory, design, and implementation
Abstract
This book is meant to serve as an introduction to the main body of knowledge in the area of digital processing with an emphasis on implementation techniques. The mathematical tools of the Z-transform and the discrete Fourier transform are reviewed along with the essential concepts of digital signal processing. The main design methods of digital filters are studied, and some computer programs for designing digital filters are given. In addition to standard filters, filters for interpolation and decimation are considered. A chapter is devoted to the fast Fourier transform and its application to power spectra measurement and linear convolution. The architecture of digital signal processors and examples of implementation of dedicated-hardware special purpose processors are studied. Finally, some problems arising from the use of finite word length, such as scaling and limit cycles, are discussed.
