Processing of spacecraft-acquired data
Abstract
Primary processing of telemetered information to ascertain the physical parameters of onboard equipment and navigational ties relating to measurement data, for finding the values of various performance variables characterizing the position and orientation of a spacecraft while measurements are being taken, are discussed. The navigational tie data include: information on the motion of the center of mass of the space vehicle; information on the orientation of the space vehicle; evaluation of accuracy and enhancement of the accuracy of the navigational ties. Statistical processing of magnetometer readings by automated means and orbit calculation algorithms used in the Intercosmos program are mentioned.
