Model description of statistical characteristics of transport in an incompressible turbulent fluid
Abstract
In view of the unsatisfactory resolution of the problem of closing the equations for the vorticity functions of isotropic velocity and temperature fields, the author adopts asymptotic methods of correlation description of inhomogeneous turbulence for the limiting cases of small and large Reynolds and Peclet numbers, corresponding to fine-scale and large-scale turbulence. An approximate description of the simplest statistical characteristics of inhomogeneous velocity and temperature fields in an incompressible fluid - single-point correlations (moments) of hydrodynamic parameters - is given on the basis of a finite number of model equations for the moments.
