Active receiving thick folded dipoles array with good sensitivity between 0.4 GHz and 1 GHz
Abstract
This paper describes the design and testing of a broadband active thick-folded-dipole, used for reception, between 0.4 and 1 GHz. This active antenna which exhibits a good sensitivity can be used as an element of a directive array without a loss of bandwidth and sensitivity. For example, an array of two active folded-dipoles in front of a reflector plane gives directivity about 10 dB upon an isotropic source between 0.4 and 1 GHz, and a better sensitivity than the isolated active antenna.
