Replenishment processes and flow train interaction
Abstract
Measurements have been conducted of slag layer development and properties in subsonic and in supersonic flows. Test conditions were designed to simulate baseload generator conditions. Local calorimetry methods were employed and still photography was used. Optical bolometers, scanning over the wall, were also utilized. The experimental observations are discussed, taking into account flow field and transport results. Attention is given to aspects of slag layer growth modeling and to questions related to current transport and reentrainment boundaries.
