Transport equations for a gas mixture in a Knudsen layer
Abstract
Transport equations for a gas mixture in a Knudsen layer (field of gradients of partial density and temperature tangential to an infinite surface) are derived from the Boltzmann equation. The slip velocity is calculated for a binary gas mixture in the field of partial density and temperature gradients, taking account of intermolecular collisions and collisions with the surface. The method used is compared with the method of half space moments.
