The problem of calculating the hydraulic resistance of a nonstratified two-phase adiabatic flow
Abstract
The applicability of the Kutateladze friction law (1972) in describing the change in the relative hydraulic drag of two-phase flow is discussed. Flow conditions characterized by absence of flow stratification, and by a stable interface between phases, are assumed. The channel wall is wetted by the liquid, and the density of the gas-liquid mixture outside the boundary layer is assumed equal to the mean flow density, with the density change governed by turbulent transfer processes.
