Parametric studies of a helical CO2 TEA laser
Abstract
The four stage, 515 cm long, helical CO2 TEA laser studied here has an electrode system with both the anode and cathode containing 909 resistively loaded pins. The discharge distance is 23.8 mm, and the input energy is in the range of 28-163 J, while the maximum output energy of 1.6 J is obtained for the optimal CO2/N2/He (2:3:10) active mixture. The pulse shapes of discharge voltage and laser emission were photographically visualized, and graphs are presented plotting the voltage dependence of laser emission intensity for different proportions of the components of the active mixture.
