Relative equilibria of a satellite gyrostat in the restricted three-body problem
Abstract
The problem of the pointing stability of a satellite-gyrostat at any one of either the rectilinear or triangular libration points of the restricted three-body problem is considered for the case when the relative angular velocity of the rotor is constant and a force moment is applied to the rotor relative to its axis, securing a constant value for the projection of the absolute rotor angular velocity on its axis of rotation. Sufficient conditions for gyrostat pointing stability are given.
